The Principal's Message

Dear O.B. Whaley Families,

Welcome back to another school year. I hope you all had wonderful and relaxing summer vacations. A new school year always brings some changes, and this year will be no exception as I take over as your new principal. I am looking forward to leading O.B. Whaley as it continues the success for which it is so well-known. I’m honored to be part of this community and staff. Whether your child is continuing at O.B. Whaley or just starting out, I welcome him/her to a year of challenges, adventures, experiences, and learning. This year I plan to work with the O.B. Whaley staff and support them as they plan rigorous reading and math programs to ensure your child receives the highest quality education. Your child will have extended learning opportunities through our extended day programs and our daily after-school program which we have thanks to the 21st Century grant and in partnership with the YMCA.

My initial goal will be to get to know the staff, the students, the parents, and the community. I welcome you to come to the school and meet with me. I look forward to hearing your ideas and suggestions. I will be holding a series of morning coffee hours throughout September where parents and community members will be invited to come to O.B. Whaley for an informal meet and greet. My hope is that many families will take this opportunity. In addition, you’ll get weekly newsletters from me highlighting any important O.B. Whaley information. This will always be printed on blue paper and will go home each Friday.

Together I know we can make this a great year. We have a terrific teaching staff at Whaley, but they need your support too. Please continue to read all of the communications sent home by the office and your child’s teacher. Also, do not hesitate to contact us with any concerns or if you’d like to volunteer your time.

Parents + Teachers + Students + Working Together = A Successful School Year!

Thank you,
Chris Corpus
